Thursday night was one for the memory books!  March 27th was the official night of SocialVibe.com's very first event.  The night was held at Les Deux in Hollywood with open bar and food provided by Geisha House.  The beneficiary was The Surfrider Foundation.  Surfrider focuses on keeping our oceans and beaches clean so future generations can enjoy them the way we have.  You can now go into SocialVibe and chose Surfrider and your cause (Just one of the cool new features of our site).  

Some of the media in attendence was KushTV, and OhSo.tv  just to name a few.  Not to mention bloggers, magazines, and the notorious paparazzi.  We are working on getting some more video and pictures from them all so keep an eye out for more in the weeks to come.

 All in all what a great night!  The entire party was 'Green', all the way to down to the gift bags we handed out at the end of the night.  There will be more to come from this night as it all unfolds, but be on the look out for more videos and coverage.  To give you a taste, here is a video of Mr. Crocker getting ready for the event.

Whew....what a night.  Last night was our 'Green' launch party at Les Deux in LA with Surf Rider foundation as the beneficiary.  The event was a HUGE success.  A great mixture of celebs, brands, KUSHtv, and SocialVibe users were in attendance.  We wanted it to be more than just another party though, so everything down to the recyclable pink carpet was eco-friendly.  The gift bags had tons of free goodies for everyone that came.

All in all it was amazing to see so many people come together for a good cause, and help spread the word about our amazing website.  We wish every user could have been there for the night!

SocialVibe was mentioned in an article recently written in Wired magazine.  It's in their March issue with the Apple logo on the cover (NOT the above cover, but it's the only one I could find).  Nothing too big,  you have to read it pretty closely to catch it in fact, but still great to see our baby growing up a little bit.  Click here to read the article.

We decided there was just no way we could pick one winner. So here is what we did...we picked six runners up, and TWO grand prize winners! The runners up are all receiving $50 gift cards from SocialVibe brand Apple! Unfortunately the two winners couldn't make it out for the event , so we had to think of other ideas to reward them. The two winners are receiving a gift bag with a bunch of products from SocialVibe brands at a value of $500 a piece, AND we are donating an additional $500 to ANY charity of their choice. So much so that we will be having more contests in the future, and we can't wait to see what everyone comes up with again! As you all know, climate change is real and is drastically affecting our planet. While we are all aware of the daunting reality that is global warming, many of us have yet to actually do anything about it! Our leaders conveniently recognize the problem, but typically fail to act - which is partly our fault. As the next generation of leaders, we haven’t let our voice be heard in the conversation. Too often we are more concerned with what is going on in our own lives to take the time to speak up and contribute to a larger Cause, and global change. I know that I’m guilty as well.

One thing that my involvement in SocialVibe has taught me, is that the youth have a voice, and that everyone has the ability to influence the people around them. SocialVibe members reach an estimated 10 million people all around the globe (people who visit SocialVibe members blogs, MySpace, Facebook, etc.). That's 10 million people that listen to what we have to say! I urge all of you to watch the video above. The World Wildlife Fund has organized a world wide event called “Earth Hour” to make a statement to our leaders that we care about our planet and we want them to take action. On March 29th we are asking the SocialVibe community to join the “Earth Hour” movement and turn off your lights at 8p.m. (local time) for one hour. It may seem like a small thing, but sometimes it just takes one spark to ignite change! I urge you all to use your online influence to spread the message. You can go to www.earthhour.org to pledge your participation. Send us your Earth Hour photos and we will post them on the Vibe.

 A few things to announce.  We HAVE chosen the winners of the video contest, and we couldn't pick just one so we have a few people we are trying to get ahold of.  Once the winners get back to us we will let everyone know!  We can't plaster their video everywhere and stuff until we notify them.

On a good note though, the Crocker video has gotten over 100,000+ views!  Pretty impressive for a video that only spreads the word about a site.  Well played Mr. Crocker.  If you have yet to see the video it's the one directly above this article...look up.  

On a completely different note, our launch party is March 27th @ Le Deux in Hollywood.  I wish you guys could see the RSVP list of who's going to be there.  Let's just say its going to be a very interesting night.  We will of course have videos, pics, etc. from the event for everyone to see.

Ok everyone so the video contest has officially ended! We will be spending the next few days reviewing all the videos and picking a winner. We want to thank everyone who submitted a video, we received over 75 submissions!!!! Don't stop there though, if you want to keep making videos promoting SocialVibe, by all means please do so. Since the response to this contest was so huge we are going to think of another video contest that hopefully blows this one out of the water. Again, thank you to everyone who participated, every user who submitted a video received 1,500 points. We can't showcase all the videos simply due to the mass volume, but we will show a lot of them periodically in our blog. These are some of the videos we received.
