You're already familiar with Stand Up 2 Cancer, one of our most popular causes on SocialVibe, and we've told you about the exciting live telethon they are broadcasting on Sept 5 to raise funds for cancer research.
To further raise awareness and funds for cancer research, 15 of the hottest female singers (such as Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna..) have teamed up with producer L.A. Reid and Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds to create "Just Stand Up," a track that will be available for purchase on iTunes on Sept 2. All sales of the single will benefit Stand Up To Cancer.
The complete list of stars featured on the track: Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow, Miley Cyrus, Melissa Etheridge, Ashanti, Natasha Bedingfield, Keyshia Cole, Ciara, Leona Lewis, LeAnn Rimes and Carrie Underwood.
All 15 singers will share the stage to perform the song live on Sept. 5 during the Stand Up to Cancer television special, set to air simultaneously on ABC, NBC and CBS. Other stars expected to turn out for the hourlong fund- and awareness-raising program include Jennifer Aniston, Lance Armstrong, Katie Couric, Sally Field, Salma Hayek, Meryl Streep, Forest Whitaker and Reese Witherspoon.
