You probably read the title of this post and thought to yourself, "what the heck is she talking about???" Allow me to explain.
Super Lamb Bananas are the creation of Japanese-based artist Taro Chiezo. You can find these pieces of art all over Liverpool, or at least you could up until recently. While these magnificent and unique lamb-banana hybrids were out and about, one of our marvelous SocialVibe members, Mattysoft, went on a mission to take a pink ball photo with each and every one of them.
Here is what he came back with from his excursion!
Bye-bye, lamb bananas!
Wouldn't it be cool if we had pink ball pics from all over the globe? We love seeing pink ball pics with your beautiful faces, but we also love seeing our beloved pink balls in fabulous places that it's never been before. Send us pics of your pink ball out and about in YOUR town or when you're on vacation!
We told you all yesterday about how you have the opportunity to win an easy 150 SocialVibe points just by sending us a pic or video of how you are helping spread the word about our High Schoolers Gone Good contest.
We have already received some aaaawesome submissions! Check out these two fliers sent to us by superstar SocialViber Eric Shine.
Use these as inspiration to create your own fliers and then send us your own version! Or - send us a video of you telling all your schoolmates about SocialVibe. Shoot, just take your pink ball to school and take pictures with all your classmates! The possibilities are endless, my friends.
This is a competition, people, so get your game faces on! The winning school not only gets SocialVibe President Joe Marchese flown to their school, but they also win $10,000 for their Student Council. That's a LOT of money!
What are you gonna do to spread the word??? Let us know! We'll be announcing the front runners periodically on The Vibe, so stay tuned!
In honor of the Democratic National Convention currently happening in Denver, CO, we have some pretty sweet footage - courtesy of Declare Yourself -of High School Musical star and heartthrob Zac Efron explaining why he thinks it's important for young people to get involved and vote.
Declare Yourself is not only a cause on SocialVibe, but they are also repping hardcore at the DNC! You know what that means... we've got pink balls all over the convention floor and we will be posting pics of them soon!
Are you following the DNC? Are you registered to VOTE!? If not, head on over to DeclareYourself.com and register! Let your voice be heard!
Edit- Since so many of you seem to favor Obama, and the Democrats are rallying in Denver right now, I figure this is as good a time as any to post this funny picture...
We know how much SocialVibe members love MyYearbook, and we want you to know that we love it, too! And to prove it, we've even set up a special sweepstakes for any new SocialVibe members who join through MyYearbook at socialvibe.com/myyearbook.
Just by signing up through this page, these new members are automatically entered into a drawing to win a $1,000 scholarship. In addition, they also earn an automatic $L1000 in lunch money from MyYearbook.
Today, we are proud to announce the first winner of this extraordinary sweepstakes, bonieAG! Welcome to SocialVibe, and CONGRATULATIONS!
Ivonne has chosen Direct Relief International as her cause. Direct Relief International is a non-profit focused on improving the quality of life by bringing critically needed medicines and supplies to local healthcare providers worldwide. She hopes to one day continue making a difference in the world by working for an organization that helps people receive the medical care and food supplies that they need. With this $1,000 scholarship, we hope she will be one step closer to fulfilling that dream.
If you have any friends on MyYearbook who aren't currently on SocialVibe, be sure to tell them about the sweepstakes so they have a chance at winning the scholarship, as well as a guaranteed $L1000 on MyYearbook. Doesn't get much better than that!
We LOVE seeing the videos that you guys make to support your causes, or to spread the word about SocialVibe. This particular video from user goliathsleeps made for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and SocialVibe was so moving, I couldn't resist sharing it with all of you.
GREAT video! Without a doubt, we have the best members of any site on the world wide web. We couldn't be prouder. Keep doing what you're doing - together we ARE making a difference.
Anybody walking through Times Square may be surprised to find hundreds of jeans and shirts hanging like laundry from clotheslines above the streets. Don’t be too concerned… it’s all part of the Pair in the Square Celebrity Jeans Auction.
Here is your chance to bid on and win the jeans of some of your fave stars such as Miley Cyrus, Nick Lachey, Ashlee Simpson, Lauren Conrad, Rachael Ray, Minnie Driver, Debra Messing, Brittany Snow, Terrence Howard, Forest Whitaker, Neil Patrick Harris, and many more which can be found at a href="www.clothesoffourback.org">www.clothesoffourback.org.
Alison Sweeney, host of “The Biggest Loser” and cast member of “Days of Our Lives,” kicked off the auction yesterday by auctioning off Ryan Seacrest’s jeans to benefit the Clothes Off Our Back Foundation.
Proceeds from the auction, which runs until September 8, will go towards The Art of Elysium, one of SocialVibe's causes which is dedicated to enriching the lives of artists and critically ill children. They believe that there is a powerful and mutual exchange of hope and appreciation that occurs when artists share their time and talent with children battling serious medical conditions. Additionally, the funds raised from the auction will benefit America’s Second Harvest, Hope North, and H.E.L.P. Malawi.
To read more about and make Art of Elysium your cause on SocialVibe, check out their homepage!
Would you bid on any of the stars jeans?? The top denim bids are $500 for Miley Cyrus, $200 for Christian Slater, $120 for Michael Kors and $100 for John Krasinski (Jim from The Office)!
Whenever I hear 'Back to School,' I always think of Billy Madison when Adam Sandler notoriously sings "Back to school, back to school, to prove to Dad that I'm not a fool!" Can I get an Amen?
But that is beside the point.
This year, while you're preparing for going back to school, one thing you should definitely be thinking about is, "How can I get my school involved in SocialVibe's 'High Schoolers Gone Good' contest???"
$10,000 for your student council is at stake here, and as if that weren't enough, think of the difference you could make if you recruited your entire school to join SocialVibe. That is such a huge opportunity to raise more money for the causes!
We've already given you all the details here, but we want to add this little tidbit to the story: We will happily give 150 SocialVibe points to anyone who sends in a photo or video of themselves promoting HSGG at their high school. Just like that! Be sure to e-mail the pics/vids to highschool@socialvibe.com. We can't wait to see the creative ways you are spreading the word.
So what is the best way to get your High School involved in the High Schoolers Gone Good contest? Check out these great ideas and get a head start on the contest!
A. Hand out fliers getting students to sign up at www.socialvibe.com/highschool.
B. Get the contest into the first issue of your school newspaper.
C. Have the contest announced on your morning announcements.
D. Have your principle announce it via intercom.
E. Get student council involved (after all, they probably want the $10,000 for your school ).
F. Talk to teachers about presenting it to the class.
G. Post big BANNERS around campus (obviously approved by your school).
If you have any other ideas, and want to share your secrets, be sure to post about it in the comments or in the SocialVibe forums! Good luck guys! Team spirit!
I never thought this was possible, but I think Heidi Montag may have just ruined the 80s for me. The Hills' star has outdone herself with this music video for her latest single, "Overdosin'."
It's supposed to be over-the-top-cheesy, right? It's 10 minutes long, so if you have the time, watch it all the way through. I'd really love your feedback on this one.
Thoughts? Comments? Hills fans: What do you think??
