Parade magazine recently published a list of the Most Generous Celebrities, ranked by the amount of funds donated to charity last year. Who topped the list??

It's no surprise, Oprah Winfrey came in first with a whopping $52 million donated to charity last year. This is no surprise, she is after all one of the most richest, powerful people in entertainment! Winfrey gave to various charities, including her own Oprah's Angel Network, which provides education, health care and advocacy for women and children worldwide. Parade's list was compiled by The Giving Back Fund from public records of donations given during 2007.

Also included on the list are Barbra Streisand, who gave $11 million to environmental causes, women's issues, civil rights and AIDS research. Paul Newman is number 4, donating $10 million, and Mel Gibson is close behind with a $9.9 donated.

No surprise here - Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie provided a fantastic $8.4 million to their foundation to benefit New Orleans reconstruction, refugee aid and cross-cultural understanding. Athletes Lance Armstrong, Michael Jordan and hockey star Eric Lindros all tied for 7th place - each donating $5 million.

Good for them. With the amount of money some of these celebs make, it's great to see that so many of them are giving back to those less fortunate.

Who would you like to see donating more??

I agree with the Bill Gates comments, he has plenty of money. I'm sure he could donate a good amount and it wouldn't even make a dent in his bank account.

Wow! Not a single person said Donald Trump. What the hell?! Dude can destroy a country side in Scotland but can't give a few mil to charity.

Bill Gates donates a ton, this is talking about celebs, I don't consider him a celeb.

I don't care how much these guys donate, if they're donating to charities that hurt animals its useless.
