d00d is a serious horror movie buff, and was ecstatic to hear that one of his long time dreams is coming true: Friday the 13th is being remade!

What do you guys think? Is remaking a horror classic a good idea? What about remaking the Nightmare on Elm Street?

What classic horror film would you like to see remade?

Tomorrow, when you're recovering from what I'm sure will be a great Halloween, remember to acknowledge World Vegan Day, which is November 1st. This holiday comes at the perfect time, when you think about it, because most Halloween candy is vegan!

Besides eating a thousand pieces of candy, here are a few ways you can celebrate World Vegan Day.

- Screen the documentary Earthlings for your family and friends. Earthlings is awesomely informative and narrated by Joaquin Phoenix. The Oscar nominated actor Joaquin is a longtime vegan, and has been in the news recently after announcing he is retiring from acting to focus on a musical career (which is totally cool since he won a Grammy for Walk the Line!)

- Watch this pro-vegetarian video by rocker Joan Jett.

- Check out the scandalous PETA promotions by Danity Kane (when they were still a fivesome).

- Choose peta2 as your Cause on SocialVibe!

Are you going to celebrate World Vegan Day? If so, how?

HAPPY HALLOWEEN SOCIALVIBERS!

The day we have been waiting for is finally here. Although many of the SocialVibe team are dressed up today, Sarah in particular got picked on because she dressed up as a nerd!

This is what happens when Nerd Sarah gets her hands on a light saber:

And this is what happens when mean co-workers tape her to a chair:

When you're all dressed up tonight, be sure to take photos with your pink ball and send them to us at editors@socialvibe.com. Here are a few of the photos SocialVibe members have sent in of them in their costumes:

This is about as random as it gets: an eight-foot-tall Lego man mysteriously washed up on a beach in Brighton, England. The colorful hunk of plastic showed up on Wednesday and no one knows where he came from. Locals are coming up with all sorts of explanations, which are sure to become local legend.

While some believe he floated from Denmark-where there is a LEGOLand park, others suggest he toppled off a ship. Of course, there's always the cynical possibility he's part of a publicity stunt. But Lego was insistent: "We're bemused. He has nothing to do with us."

One Brighton resident said, "It's very odd. God knows how it got here but people are saying it's from Holland because it's got some Dutch writing on it."

"The kids love it," the resident said. Children who helped stand the Lego man up on the beach were desperately curious about where it came from.

A spokesman for Brighton and Hove City Council said town hall officials had no idea of the origin of the Lego man, but added that they saw no difficulty in letting it stay on the beach where it washed up. "There's no problem at all. It will be interesting to see how long the Lego man stays there for. We'll keep an eye on it," he said.

Well, some Lego community somewhere must be missing a very big player in their game.

The Lego man's arrival comes two years after an armada of plastic ducks landed on British shores. Borne on the ocean currents, the ducks had made a 17,000-mile odyssey from the Pacific where they had been washed from a container ship in a 1992 storm.

Best Buy has declared today, October 30, National Vampire Awareness Day. The vampires they want you to be aware of are not the stereotypical blood-sucking kind, but rather the energy suckers that needlessly drain electricity.

Did you know that whenever electronics are plugged in, even when your cell phone charger is not charging your phone or your computer is turned off, electricity is being sucked from the outlet? And you are charged for that usage on your electric bill!

The biggest vampires of them all are computers, televisions, and anything that remains in "stand by" mode when not in use. The Department of Energy suspects that 40% of all electricity is consumed by products that are turned off.

Best Buy -- in an obvious effort to sell more power strips -- is spreading the word that you can stop this suckage by plugging all of your devices into a power strip and turning off that power strip when it's not in use. They have other energy saving tips at http://www.vampireawareness.com.

Check out the video Best Buy created in honor of this fang-tastic day.
