Everyone's favorite comeback queen, Britney Spears, made a surprise visit to a junior high school in New York's Bronx neighborhood last Wednesday. The students of John Philip Sousa Junior High, who were thrilled to meet the uber pop star, were even more pleased when she presented the school with a $10,000 check for the school's music program! Thanks to her generosity, the music program, which is only a year old, will be naming its music studio after Britney.

During her visit, the students put on a special performance of "I Am Woman," courtesy of the eight-piece band called The Sousatones and a seven girl chorus.
"When you're ready to take us on the road for an opening act, we're ready," band director Sal Mazzola told Britney. She replied, "You'll be the first people I call."
The donation was from Elizabeth Arden, the cosmetics company behind Britney's perfumes. "I've been working with the people at Elizabeth Arden for the last five years, and I know how passionate everyone is about the school," Britney said.
"I really enjoyed the time I spent at the John Philip Sousa Middle School. I loved hearing the school orchestra and the children sang so beautifully. The fact that Elizabeth Arden made such a large donation for the school music studio in my name was so generous."
