Since the devastating damage Hurricane Katrina brought to New Orleans almost 4 years ago, mega star and humanitarian Brad Pitt has been working feverishly to give the affected residents a place to call home in the Lower Ninth Ward of one of the oldest and most charming cities in America.

As if he hasn't had his hands full with starring in hit movies and raising a family of six! The light at the end of the tunnel is approaching quickly though, as we found out at a charity reception held yesterday in honor of the Make It Right Foundation. Thanks to the support of Brad and many others, enough money has been raised to build 90 homes! They exceeded their original goal of 84 homes thanks to overwhelming public support.
After Brad's announcement, the Jolie-Pitts (including Angelina, Maddox and Pax) took a trip to visit the area and check out his project first hand.

Brad's long term goal is to raise enough money to build 150 homes in the Lower Ninth Ward. An avid fan of architecture, Brad also designs the homes, and makes an effort to be sure his designs have an emphasis on affordability and eco-awareness.
Newly married (and newly vegan!) Ellen DeGeneres is also helping Brad, she started a team to sponsor houses. Supporters can donate directly for the cause on Make It Right's website, www.makeitrightnola.org.
