We love hearing about celebrities using their fame to give back to others, and it also makes us happy to see them using it to make positive statements!

Budding pop star Leona Lewis was recently approached by mega store Harrods in the UK with an offer of $1.7 million to open this year's summer sale. Leona denied the deal, because the department store sells fur.

Voted the Sexiest Vegetarian Alive by PETA, Leona has been a devout vegetarian since she was 12 years old. “I’m totally against animal cruelty,” she said. “I don’t have clothes, shoes or bags made from any animal products.”

The rumor mill is also suggesting that 23 year old Leona is in talks with Sir Philip Green about creating her own line of non-leather handbags and shoes for Topshop (a fabulous UK based shop, which you can now shop online in the US!). I would definitely check out her line, would you?

So who took over the responsibility of opening Harrod's summer sale? Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall - a surprising choice, considering she has worked with PETA in the past and has shunned the use of fur!
