LA Fashion Week is upon us, and some of the biggest names in fashion and and entertainment are showing off the Spring/Summer 2009 designs in a big way... and for good causes!
This weekend, Maggie Gyllenhaal, star of this summer's smash hit "The Dark Knight," hosted the kick-off runway show, "Fashionably Natural," which introduced four new eco-friendly designers.
“I didn’t know much about this at all until SoyJoy asked me to do this,” Gyllenhaal told Entertainment Tonight. “I kind of thought that eco-friendly clothes meant misshapen hemp sweaters - you know, from like 1992 or something. I would not have hosted that fashion show.”
Lets hope that hosting this fabulous show opened up Maggie's eyes!
In other fashion news, many of your favorite celebs graced the catwalk at Saturday's 5th annual 'Runway for Life' benefit to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The event was held at the Beverly Hills Hilton, and stars such as Selena Gomez, Hilary & Haylie Duff, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jaime Pressley and Jason Alexander modeled fashionable threads in an effort to raise funds for the cause.
Over 1,000 guests came out in support, and the show raised well over $1 million! This is one of St. Jude's biggest fundraising events, and to date over $6.5 million has been raised.

Fashion for good. We love it.

I like the idea about, wearing things that have been reused and trying a different way on using things in everyday life. Helping the enviroment is the best thing to do for our world today and just that little thing right there, is helping our world today =]
