"The Nightmare Before Christmas" ranked #1 in our recent Favorite Halloween Movie of All-Time poll, so we already know there are plenty of Tim Burton fans in the house.
Burton recently announced that he'll be remaking the classic Disney film 'Alice in Wonderland.' It gets better, though - Burton favorite Johnny Depp is slated to play the Mad Hatter. I couldn't think of a better man for the job! The first photo of Depp in character is enough to give me goosebumps..

Cast members also include Burton's wife, Helena Bonham-Carter, who will be playing the Queen of Hearts, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, Crispin Glover as the Knave of Spades, and the enormously talented Alan Rickman as the Caterpillar. Alice will be played by up and coming actress Mia Wasikowska.
The cartoon version is trippy enough, so factoring Tim Burton into the equation is sure to add up to an interesting final product, with huge potential. According to imdb, the live-action version of Alice in Wonderland will be released on March 5, 2010.
Here is one of my favorite scenes - the Unbirthday Party!
Remakes of films like this can sometimes be a disaster, but with a cast like that and Tim Burton behind it, I don't see how you can screw it up.
What do you think - awesome? Or should they leave it alone?
