To Write Love on Her Arms is no doubt one of our most popular causes, the organization devoted to giving hope to teenage sufferers of depression has an almost 50,000 supporters on SocialVibe.
Today, TWLOHA honors the 10th Annual National Survivors of Suicide Day. They posted a blog on their MySpace today with some information about this national day of remembrance and observance:
-
"Today is for everyone who's lost someone to suicide. It is a day to say that their life mattered and it is remembered, and perhaps it is a day to say that we continue together, learning life is better less alone.
November 22nd, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will be sponsoring the 10th annual National Survivors of Suicide Day. The day takes place every year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving and was created by U.S. Senate resolution, through the efforts of Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada, who lost his father to suicide. Every year, AFSP sponsors an event to provide an opportunity for the survivor community to come together for support, healing, information and empowerment. Below are links for more information on the day and conferences all around the country that you can attend or watch online."
