Did you hear about Kanye West's declaration that he is "the voice of our generation (of this decade)?" Any person who makes such a claim about themselves surely needs a slice of humble pie. And this week, Stephen Colbert gave it to him.

Colbert urged his fans to mass buy his album, A Colbert Christmas, to beat Kanye's freshly released 808's and Heartbreak on the iTunes chart. The plan, which Colbert called Operation: Humble Kanye, was for Colbert fans to buy the album at 5 pm on Wednesday in order to push the album past Kanye's.
Operation: Humble Kanye got a little more interesting on Wednesday when Kanye Twittered, "who the F%$# is Stephen Colbert?" You gotta give it to Kanye -- that's a pretty great reaction.
Well, the challenge worked. A Colbert Christmas jumped to #2, leaving Kanye's album at #4. Colbert gloated on his show Thursday, "We did it! We humbled him!!"
Check it out (fast forward to 1:35).
The happy ending to this story? All the proceeds from Colbert's album went to Feeding America, the same charity receiving the proceeds from DVD sales of his Christmas Special.
By our count, that is one point for Colbert. But now the score is tied: today 808's and Heartbreak is #2 on the iTunes, and A Colbert Christmas is #4. It looks like Colbert started a war, rap star style - just like the old days.
