Guests gathered in NYC last night for the charity: ball 2008 to honor the efforts of charity: water founder Scott Harrison and the rest of the organization's hard work in bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in need.
The third annual charity: water Gala took place at the Metropolitan Pavilion. Actor and musician Adrian Grenier hosted alongside supermodel Jessica Stam, and musician Amos Lee performed. 2500 guests attended, including included Whitney Port, Olivia Palermo, Bar Refaeli, Lydia Hearst, Richie Rich, Jenna Elfman, Lauren Bush, Emma Snowdon-Jones and Jason Rogers. But they didn’t walk a red carpet runway….…rather, they did the waterwalk.
The waterwalk is a signature activity at charity: water events. They ask guests to walk a fraction of the distance an average person in Africa might walk each day, to experience the burden that millions of people face to provide water for their families. Each time a person walks, a group of sponsors donate towards a well.

We are proud to call charity: water a part of the SocialVibe family - do your part in giving the gift of water this holiday, earn free donations by choosing charity:water as your Cause on SocialVibe. We are less than $500 away from our goal of $4,000 to build a freshwater well for over 400 people. To date, SocialVibe has donated over $33,000 to charity: water.
