We did it! Thanks to the support of Matthew Lush and the thousands of members he was able to recruit to SocialVibe, we raised enough money to build a well in Africa with charity: water.
And now, we've got the photos (and Google Earth coordinates) to prove it!
Buiilt in the village of Karaza in the Central African Republic, this well is currently providing clean, safe drinking water to 333 people.

The well you helped build in action
Prior to drilling this well, the people of this village had to get their water from filthy, unsanitary water sources, causing over 50% of the villagers to suffer from digestive problems such as intestinal worms. This water won't be used just for drinking and cooking, though! They'll also be using it for washing clothes, dishes, hands, and watering animals, among other things.
The old water source:
The NEW water source:
We're thrilled that we can not only make such a big difference in the lives of people half a world away, but that we can share it with you as well. Without you, this absolutely would not have been possible. THANK YOU for your support!
If you have Google Earth, you can view the well by clicking here. If you haven't got Google Earth, you'll have to download it to see it.

Speaking of, we're curious...
Big thanks to all the supporters of charity: water, and a special thank you to Matthew Lush!
From here, we can only do more. Check out charity: water's newest goal, $5,000 in 55 days. The civil war in Cote divoire, West Africa destroyed basic infrastructure including water systems, schools and health clinics. The money you raise will bring water to a heath clinic in "The Zone of Confidence" - the buffer zone in Central Cote divoire dividing the North and South. Currently, no one is bringing water into this region, so your efforts are going to make a huge impact to 500 people in need.
