Hayden Panettiere will take every opportunity to raise awareness for her campaign, Save The Whales Again!, even if it means approaching the new President at an Inaugural Ball.
Miss P took center stage at the Green Inaugural Ball on Saturday night in Washington D.C., urging the Obama administration to take action and get involved with her fight against whaling.
- “Lessen the amount,” she said. “If not completely get rid of whaling. Because it’s unnecessary.”
The Heroes actress also mentioned that she and Barack Obama have previously discussed the issue -
- “I’ve actually talked to him about it before,” she said. “He was raised in Hawaii, so I think he would agree with me about [protecting marine life].” Then she added: “[But] I’m not going to speak for him.”
Hayden and The Whaleman Foundation have been campaigning for the cause for years, and recently launched an anti-whaling petition with SocialVibe in hopes of getting 1 million signatures. Once the signatures are collected, Hayden will hand deliver the petition to the International Whaling Commission this June.
