Following the trio's announcement of their comeback at the Grammys on Sunday, Blink 182's website now proudly displays a message confirming the return of one of this generation's favorite rock bands.

Below a large "SUMMER 2009" banner, the message reads:
- "Hi. We’re blink-182. This past week there’ve been a lot of questions about the current status of the band, and we wanted you to hear it straight from us. To put it simply, We’re back. We mean, really back. Picking up where we left off and then some. In the studio writing and recording a new album. Preparing to tour the world yet again. Friendships reformed. 17 years deep in our legacy."
While the pop-punk group presented the award for best rock album this past Sunday, Travis Barker, drummer, proudly declared "We used to play together, and we decided to play music together once again. Blink is back."
Clearly they are ready to rock. Do you think Barker's near-death experience with the plane crash last fall had anything to do with this decision?
