SNL cast member Andy Samberg has no problem laughing at himself, which is clearly evident after watching him in video shorts such as "D*ck In A Box" and "J*zz In My Pants." His newest role in I Love You, Man has taken him to places he's never been before - like the cover of Out Magazine.

30 year old Samberg plays an openly gay man in this comedy supporting bro-mance, which he describes as “a dude-on-dude romantic story that straight guys can feel comfortable watching.”

Andy says, “No-one is going to look at my character in I Love You, Man, and say, ‘It’s funny because you’re a straight guy playing a gay guy.’ It’s funny because the character is funny.’”
And responding to criticism that Saturday Night Live has resorted to gay stereotypes, Andy claims the source of humor is not homosexuality, but in the fraught relationship straight men have with it. “It’s bro-gay,” he says, “which I just love because dudes that are bros and super antigay are the ones who need to get it the worst. They’re the ones we have the most fun f—ing with.”
I for one, am stoked for this movie. A) I love Paul Rudd B) I love Andy Samberg and C), it just looks hilarious. Check out the trailer, it opens March 20 in theatres.
What do you think about what Andy had to say? And how excited are you for this movie??
