The entire world is weighing in on the physically abusive relationship between pop stars Rihanna and Chris Brown. Is she dating him again? Should she be? How severely should he be punished?

Here's one bit of advice she might want to listen to. Queen of Talk Oprah Winfrey, the one person millions of women turn to everyday for advice, has released a public message for both Chris and Rihanna:
- "Chris Brown and Rihanna, if I was your friend, I would call you up and I would say, 'Give it some time, get yourself some counseling, take care of yourself... Heal yourself first.''
- She added another bit of advice for 21 year-old Rihanna, "And also, love doesn’t hurt. I've been saying this to women for years: 'If a man hits you once, he will hit you again.' "
Powerful words from a powerful woman. We're not sure this will completely open Rihanna's eyes, but it is a step in the right direction. Clearly moved, Oprah is also planning an upcoming show focused on the subject of domestic violence, of which one in four women in the US are victims of.
- "It makes me so sad that I said to the producers, 'I want to do a show about it this week dedicated to all the Rihanna's of the world,' " Winfrey said.
Oprah's good friend Gayle King added her own commentary about Rihanna and Chris' relationship:
- "My thing about this is, if you guys want to get back together, I'm okay with that, but at least take some time," she said. "I'm so worried that she's sending the wrong message to the fans. And him, too."
What do you think - good advice? What advice would you offer Rihanna?
