A family in the UK has declared themselves "too fat too work," and although they are already receiving over $32,000 in annual checks to take care of their living expenses, they are crying "more, more, more!"

The Chawner family - mother, father and two daughters - weigh a total of 1,162 pounds, no surprise considering they consume over 3,000 calories each on a daily basis - mostly consisting of cereal, microwave pies, bacon, and french fries.
- Mr. Chawner said: "What we get barely covers the bills and puts food on the table. It's not our fault we can't work. We deserve more."
Great Britain is the third "fattest country in the world," trailing behind the notoriously obese US and Mexico.

Their reason for eating junk? Healthy food is "too expensive." ... hm... Get a job! According to them, they can't. Each family member has their own excus- ahem, ailments - prohibiting them from work, first and foremost, that their weight is a hereditary condition.
Mrs. Chawner receives additional money each month in disability for her asthma and epilepsy, both of which are due to obesity. Mr. Chawner was on a waiting list for gastric band surgery last year, but a heart condition killed that plan. He also receives disability funds each month for type-2 diabetes.
The couple's two daughters, Samantha and Emma, weighing in at 238 and 252 lbs, are currently on track to follow in their parent's footsteps. Samantha receives unemployment money, but her aspiring hairdresser sister Emma is one-step up, receiving assistance for low-income students. She claims her studies make her too busy to exercise.
- "I'm a student and don't have time to exercise" she said "We all want to lose weight to stop the abuse we get in the street, but we don't know how."
In my opinion, this is nothing a little healthy cooking and exercise couldn't cure. What do you think? Do the Chawners deserve more money due to their weight, or should the British government tell them "tough cookies?" (Pun intended.)
Side note: Has anyone ever seen that show You Are What You Eat on BBC America? The host ransacks the homes of UK families, clearing out their cupboards and then analyzing their eating habits. She puts them on a new fitness and diet regime to get them into shape, and most of the time, it works. I am thoroughly addicted to this show.
