On April 25, 2009, thousands of people in over 100 cities around the world are coming together, abducting themselves, and waiting for The Rescue, an event to raise awareness for the war in Uganda that has terrorized the region for more than 20 years.

Over 3,000 children are currently being held hostage and used as child soldiers in Joseph Kony's army. Each day, more children are being abducted from their homes, and thousands are dying weekly.

With your help, we can take steps toward bringing peace to Northern and Southern Uganda and the surrounding regions. To find out more and sign up for your local Rescue, visit therescue.invisiblechildren.com. And watch this video.

While you're waiting for The Rescue, spread awareness by wearing IC Rescue shirts for the entire month of April (we're only 6 days in, it's not too late), and Have you signed up yet?

Don't forget- you can earn free donations for Invisible Children by choosing them as your Cause on SocialVibe.
