It's been a very busy few weeks at SocialVibe, which is great news for all of our charities! Here are the goals that have been reached in the past few weeks:

PanCAN ($641/$500):
Pancreatic cancer is resistant to chemo and radiation that is often effective in treating other types of cancer receives less than half of the amount of research funding as many other types of cancer. The goal has been reached, but time isn't up and every additional dollar raised will help fund treatments and cures. Let's make it to $1,000! (ends 07/01, reached 04/25)

Starlight ($648/$500):
When a child or teenager has a serious medical condition, everyone in the family is affected. The money you help raise will ensure that more families have access to Starlight's programs which distract children from their pain, help them better understand and manage their illnesses, and connect families facing similar challenges so that no one feels alone. Update: great job reaching the goal! Every additional dollar will help even more. (ended 04/29, reached 04/19)

One Laptop Per Child ($603/$600):
Nearly 2 billion children in the developing world do not have adequate access to education. We can change that, even if it's one child at a time. The $600 you help raise will provide 3 children with specialized, low power laptops that will empower them to learn and, hopefully, one day lift themselves out of poverty. (ended 04/28)

peta2 ($4,155/$3382):
Updated goal: The Canadian government is allowing 338,200 seals to be slaughtered this year - that's more than 100,000 more than last year, so we need even more help. Their annual seal slaughtering season is now in progress. The most common methods of killing these animals are smashing their skulls and shooting seals as young as a few weeks old. Every additional dollar you earn helps us raise awareness and funds to stop this cruel massacre. (ends 05/10, reached 04/20)

Music for Relief ($25,000):
Congratulations to everyone who helped raise $25k for clean water, food, and reforestation in hurricane-affected areas of Haiti. Your incredible efforts generated over $20,000 and inspired our generous brand sponsors to donate the remaining amount! Thanks to all who helped! (ended 04/24)

spcaLA ($1,038/$1,000)
The Animal Safety Net Program provides a safe haven for the pets of battered victims. "Pets are often threatened or harmed by violent partners. By providing shelter and care for the pets, ASN helps victims to leave an abusive home and go to a shelter without the fear that their animals may be left behind in a dangerous environment." Great job reaching the goal! Every additional dollar will help even more! (ends 5/28, reached 5/03)

This is "Cause" for celebration... pun intended! It just goes to show you how your efforts on SocialVibe.com and on your social networks CAN make a difference in the world. Here's to many more goals being reached in the near future...

1. Even if a goal is not reached, ALL money raised still goes to charity.

2. Once a goal is hit, all money raised after will STILL go to the charity.
