We have a feeling PETA isn't going to be re-naming Oprah their Person of the Year for 2009 after they get word of this one. Media mogul and talk show host Oprah has announced she will be buying a Kentucky Fried Chicken 2-piece grilled chicken dinner for every family in America.

This is coming from the same lady who hosted an entire show based on uncovering the dark side of chicken farming last fall. Of all chicken manufacturers who use unethical factory farming practices, KFC is by far the worst. PETA has a long-standing campaign against the fast food restaurant, called Kentucky Fried Cruelty.
Celebrities such as Pamela Anderson, Sir Paul McCartney, the Dalai Lama, the late Bea Arthur, and Reverend Al Sharpton are among the list of folks boycotting the chicken restaurant.
We think it's great that Oprah is taking it upon herself to help feed America during a recession - after all, every little bit helps - but couldn't she have chosen a restaurant that isn't known for it's cruel slaughtering practices? Sound off below and let us know your comments.
Maybe we should contact her via Twitter (@Oprah) and kindly suggest she choose a different restaurant.
