Have you ever taken a sip out of a bottle of water and thought to yourself, "Man, this tastes just like tap water?" You're not alone, and you're not crazy. Turns out many of the largely distributed bottled water companies do just that - filter tap water into bottles, slap a label on it, and sell it as something that you trust is clean and healthy.

Although much tap water is safe to drink, certain geographical locations have worse quality tap water than others (see where your city ranks here). If bottled water corporations won't disclose the sources of their water, we have no way of knowing the quality of what we're drinking.
Even the government is anxious to know - Congress has sent letters to 13 bottled water companies asking them to dish up the info - where DOES your bottled water come from?
A couple companies, Pepsi and Nestle, have both confirmed their Aquafina and Pure Life water comes from public sources. They haven't elaborated beyond that, but Coke hasn't said either way just where their Dasani water comes from. You can gently nudge Coke into revealing its sources by filling out Do you think companies should have to state the water sources, or should we all just zip it and trust them?
