Nadya Suleman shocked the world after giving birth to octuplets earlier this year. Highly criticized for her choosing to have IV fertilization treatments while she already had six children, Nadya has remained in the public eye and is even said to be filming a reality TV show. 'Octo-Mom' is about to be one-upped, though - a woman in North African country Tunisia is currently carrying a record twelve babies.

After suffering several miscarriages, an unnamed teacher chose to, like Suleman, turn to fertility treatments. She is now pregnant with six boys and six girls.
-
"The woman could have been receiving ovulation induction treatment, which stimulates egg production. You don't have the same control as with IVF," said Dr. Mark Hamilton, of the British Fertility Society.
Although the mother is currently said to be 'feeling fine,' the risks from carrying this many children are astounding, and specialists worry that in addition to her own complications from pregnancy and birth, not all of the babies will survive. She will require constant monitoring and runs the risk of premature labor.
- "When you get to a pregnancy with that many multiples, often some of them spontaneously die," FOXNews.com's Dr. Manny Alvarez said. "Anything more than five babies becomes a very high-risk pregnancy."
Despite the risks, the family is looking forward to hugging their babies.
- "In the beginning, we thought that my wife would give birth to twins, but more fetuses were discovered," said the father, named in local reports only as Marwan. "Our joy increased with the growing number."
We wish the family nothing but the best, and hope for a healthy birth, though we do suggest staying as far from the tabloids as possible!
