The story sounded a little fishy to begin with, and it turns out the woman claiming to be pregnant with twelve babies might be nothing more than a phony! The UK Telegraph is reporting that the woman, supposedly 9 months pregnant with six boys and six girls, has literally fallen off the radar. No one can find her!

The country of Tunisia's health ministry launched an investigation and has evidence indicating she has "psychological problems and is unlikely even to be pregnant."
Peter Bowen-Simpkins, of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist, is skeptical on the truth of her claims, asking, "How could you get 12 babies into the womb at the same time? The womb just doesn't expand that much. She would have to be about seven feet tall."
This would have been the world record for most children ever held at one time, a record that is currently held by Nadya Suleman of CA, better known to many as Octo-Mom.
A spokesperson from Tunis said of her situation:
- "Our staff interviewed her at length, but even her pregnancy appears to be in her imagination. She's claiming to be nine months pregnant with six boys and six girls, but there's absolute nothing about her appearance which indicates this. The woman has refused point blank to undergo a medical examination. Now we can't even contact her. She's gone into hiding."
The 34 yr old woman's husband, who hired a lawyer to deal with media inquiries, has also disappeared. Even a doctor at the only local hospital in her town of Gafsa says that they were never patients of the hospital, and "undoubtedly" made the entire thing up.
- "Even he's gone missing now," said the doctor. "There's something very suspicious going on, and we wouldn't be surprised if this matter ended up with the police."
Could it be a hoax, or is she just seeking privacy? Is she in it for the publicity? What kind of a stunt is that, when she doesn't even release her own name? We're confuddled, but are erring on the side of psychological dysfunction, and assuming she made the whole thing up.
