Artificial life is now a feasible and reasonable goal, according to a claim posted Friday. Dr. Craig Venter is not any ordinary, run-of-the-mill biologists, due to his high controversy level and the fame that he's acquired through his reputation. He reveals that his crack-team of U.S. scientists most likely cleared the last hump on the road towards creating a successful synthetic organism just today.

Of course, such like any new discovery that must be put to the test, the process will not jump in head-first; rather, the artificial organism will first be made into a simple, man-made bacterium to prove that the discovery is valid and that the technology can proceed. The possibilities after the first square are revolutionary: the technology will theoretically have the means to transform coal into cleaner natural gas, or give algae the ability to absorb carbon dioxide and convert it into fuels. Say goodbye to wasting away the world's natural resources!
Hopes are high as Dr. Venter muses over future projects: ‘Assuming we don’t make any errors, I think it should work and we should have the first synthetic species by the end of the year.’
This breakthrough could be a lead into new cures and vaccines, Dr. Venter and his team predict. His big plans also include manipulating organisms to produce biofuels, cleaning up toxic waste and sequester carbon to slow global warming. We cannot wait to see what science has in store for our planet's cleanup act.
