Getting ready to head back to school? Going app-crazy on your iPhone? Don't waste all your storage capacity on games and "useless" apps. Mashable has published a list of the Top 10 iPhone Apps for Students. Here's a quick look.
-
1. BigWords: This free app is basically a price comparison tool for buying text books. Why spend $300 on your history book when you could get the same one online for much less?
2. iStudiezPro: This is an organizers dream come true. This app costs $2.99 but allows you to quickly and easily track your entire class schedule, ensuring you never miss a class again. The color-coding adds to the organization as well as the visual appeal.

3. Evernote: Scrap the old school notebooks and pens, this free app supports text, photo and voice notes, making it easy to take notes in class. It also syncs to an online account, including Twitter integration (if you want to tweet what you're learning!)
4. SimpleMind: Create your own Mind Maps, an easy-to-use app that allows you to present ideas using radial, graphical maps that encourage brainstorming. Try the free app first, but if you love it, upgrade to the $7.99 iThoughts or $9.99 iBlueSky.
5. Cram: Ah, it wouldn't be school without a good old fashioned cram session before a test. Flash cards are soooo 2004. Create your own quiz to help you study for that big test, wherever you may be. You can also share these with friends. We think this is worth $6.99.
6. Wikipedia: No need to explain this, right? This free Wikipedia app is the first OFFICIAL app from Wikipedia, the online mecca for information related to, well, anything. This brand new app gives you mobile access to full articles on-the-go. Our only suggestion: balance out your research paper sources by using real books and studies, too.

7. Dictionary.com: Because sometimes you just need to look up big words. This free app is essential for any and all lovers of the spoken and written word, whether you're a student, a blogger, or just someone who wants to expand your vocabulary.
8. myHomework: Never miss a due date again with this free app that allows you to stay on top of your upcoming assignments. Especially helpful for students with loads of homework, myHomework allows you to color-code your assignments and get notified in advance so you don't have to pull an all-nighter.
9. PI83 Graphing Calculator: Whoever is footing the bill for your education is going to really appreciate this one. Why spend the better part of $100 on a Texas Instruments TI83 graphing calculator when you can get the same functionality on your iPhone for only $.99?

10. Facebook: Even the most studious of us need to take a break sometimes. Keep in touch with all your friends via the Facebook iPhone app, so your time back at the dorm can be spent on better things, like... studying. Uh huh. Keep an eye out for the new Facebook app for iPhone 3.0, which should be released any day now.
