We are very saddened to report that Patrick Swayze lost his long fight against pancreatic cancer this afternoon. The 57 year-old actor, diagnosed with the illness in January 2008, was home with his family by his side at the time of his death.

Swayze was the the star of films such as Dirty Dancing, Ghost, Road House, and was even working on his own series, The Beast, just months before his passing. He was said to have been working on a memoir with his wife Lisa.
Swayze's diagnosis helped to bring awareness to pancreatic cancer research, which is by far the most fatal of all cancer, yet the one with the least amount of funding to find a cure. Please help us in the fight against pancreatic cancer by supporting Pancreatic Cancer Action Network on SocialVibe.
R.I.P, Patrick, you will be missed.
