As we mentioned earlier, today is World Vegetarian Day. What better time to launch a new goal for peta2? This month, the animal rights organization is targeting classroom dissection, an old-school practice which makes many animal-loving students cringe.

They've declared October to be Cut Out Dissection month, and in honor, have set a new goal to make sure everyone knows about humane alternatives to dissection!
Learn more about the campaign:
They've also released a whole bunch of other cool stuff to help you stamp out classroom dissection, among them, materials to help you speak out against cutting up animals.
Did you know that if you live in one of these lucky states, you can opt-out of classroom dissection? If not, lobby to have your school get with the program by printing out these leaflets and sharing them with your administrators.

Hollywood prankster Steve-O, of Jackass fame, is also spreading the word, and helped PETA launch the new campaign at an LA-area high school yesterday where he promoted his new ad. It cleverly reads: CUT CLASS, NOT FROGS. Of course, we both agree that you shouldn't cut class entirely, but if you don't want to dissect, speak up!

If you want to do more, sign his petition with PETA to stop classroom dissection here.
