You all remember our good friend Drew Olanoff, aka @drew, the man behind #blamedrewscancer, the super viral internet meme that intends to kick-cancer-in-the-butt. When we interviewed him a couple months back, he had his hands full with his newly launched site and a new partnership with LIVESTRONG. Not one to let chemo keep him down, Drew is at it again.
Determined to use his new online celebrity to continue funding cancer research, @drew is auctioning off his valuable Twitter handle to the highest bidder, pledging to donate all proceeds to LIVESTRONG.

The auction was targeted at celebrity Drews, such as Drew Carey (host of the Price is Right) and Drew Barrymore (who doesn't currently "tweet.") Drew Carey, currently @DrewfromTV, was quick to respond and immediately bid $25k for the coveted @drew name.
Carey followed up with a much larger bid - $100,000 - but only if he reaches 100,000 followers. He's already up to almost 40k, but we're confident he'll make it! Are you going to follow him?
This isn't Drew O's first experience combining Twitter with charity auctions. The creative do-gooder held an online auction to benefit Make-A-Wish last March, offering to get the winning bidder's Twitter name tattooed on his arm. Seems like a great use for what some of you feel is a somewhat useless product!
