Taylor's $250k Birthday Donation to Schools

America's sweetheart, chart-topping Taylor Swift, turned the big 2-0 this past weekend, and to celebrate, the Tennessee-native had a little Christmas-themed get together with friends. Instead of focusing on receiving gifts, this year Taylor decided the time was right to make a big gift to those in need this year.

Taylor made a $250,000 donation to various schools she has attended and worked with, her way of saying "thanks." The generous funds will go towards teacher's salaries, books and various education programs.

"Something I wanted to do at the end of this amazing year and especially on my birthday was give back to something I really believe in, which is education. The schools that I went to and the amazing people I got to learn from really turned me into who I am, and I wanted to give back."

What an amazing gesture! If only all celebrities were as generous as Taylor (and our Givapalooza team leaders!) Think of the difference they could make.

	That's something I never really understand about celebrities. They're buying multi-million dollar homes, while kids in the next state, the next city even, could be sleeping on the street. If I was that rich, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing that I was in my luxary house with three swimming pools, a tennis court, basketball court, and fitness center, knowing that some people don't even have a single bedroom.
