We decided that we still wanted a tree, but switched to LED lights instead, which save energy. All of the gifts I am giving are going to be wrapped in recycled newspaper, and I also inspired my immediate family to have a vegetarian Christmas dinner.

I decided to forgo outside lights this year to save electricity, and I switched to LED's on my tree.

we are using a family member's artificial tree that they didn't need anymore; and we have recently become vegetarian (we made this decision after having watched "food inc."), so we won't be having the usual meals with animal products this holiday season!

I have changed my shopping habits since seeing the movie. I now buy as many organic options as I can. Our Christmas dinner will be primarily organic in origin.

I have completely changed my life since watching Food Inc. My goal is to save money and give the DVD as presents this year. It is more affordable than most gifts we usually give!:)

We are not buying a ton of stuff from capitalist fatcats, but instead we are giving gifts that consist of a variety of unique and tasty canned goods that we canned over the summer, most of which came from our garden. Our contributions to the holiday meals are always organic and local.

Food, Inc was an eye opening film and has completely changed how I view food. Not only for the holidays, but for everyday, I will not buy processed foods and will only buy organic, and preferably locally grown foods.

I decided to give Oxfam Unwrapped gifts this year...I "gave" manure, books for kids, children's toys and a water purifier to family members. These items go to people who truly need them and I (along with my loved ones) make a small difference in world. Awesome, awesome idea! :D

I'm making my holiday sustainable by starting to eat sensibly, only eating organic foods and checking the labels every time I shop.

My husband and I are both students so with a snug budget it is hard to buy organic on everything. We buy organic where we can. Our biggest change however is that we have started to shop at little "hole-in-the-wall" grocery stores in town and I'm careful to check the label to make sure that the item was at least produced in my state. I've been surprised by the options available to substitute the "big dogs" and we've had a relatively easy time making the change. We have eliminated meat from our diet however we will add local eggs when they are available. I love supporting my community and am grateful to live in a town that is very earth-conscious. There are many, many resources here. Thank you for helping to open the world's eyes to this plight.
