Mankind reached new levels of triumph this week as the world's tallest skyscraper Burj Dubai, was unveiled by ruler Sheikh Mohammed in Dubai. The building, which began construction in September 2004, reaches far into the heavens at an incredible 2,717 ft.

The event was complete with a spectacular fireworks show, and you can see the whole thing below:
