Are you finding yourself unhappy day after day? Perhaps your lack of joy in your daily life is due to your location! Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index recently surveyed nearly half a million Americans in search of the happiest cities in all of the United States.

Boulder, CO - the happiest city in America.
Urban cities, with more than 1 million residents, were among the more optimistic of the bunch, though cities with 250,000 or less felt more safe walking alone at night and generally had more money for housing. Despite all the charm, Southern cities ranked lowest on the list in terms of happy-levels, whereas Western cities makeup the majority of the happy-list.
Nine out of the ten happiest cities contain a major university, big military installation or a state Capitol - all of which provide a bit more economic cushioning from the recession.
