During the acceptance speech for The Cove at the Academy Awards last night, you may have noticed a sign held up by dolphin trainer and activist Ric O'Barry. The sign, which ABC cut away from pretty quickly, siad "Text Dolphin to 44144." What happens if you do?

According to TakePart.com, the online presence for the film company behind The Cove, Participant Media, texting dolphin to 44144 doesn't deduct any money from your account. Rather, it signs you up to receive information about how you can help end the annual Japanese dolphin slaughter.
If you want to get involved but don't have texting (or are charged per text), you can still get all the latest info by signing up online at TakePart.com/thecove.
Congratulations again to everyone at TakePart, Participant Media and the crew behind The Cove!
