Christina Aguilera has a lot going on right now. The five-time Grammy Award winner has an album coming out (Bionic), a world tour in the works, and is the official spokesperson for the “Hunger to Hope” campaign which has raised nearly $60 million for hunger relief.

Despite all that’s going on in her own life, she simply couldn’t ignore the fact that hunger and poverty are ongoing problems that affect a billion people every day. The World Food Programme has now named her an “Ambassador Against Hunger.”
Last Friday, she spoke with Oprah about her work helping the hungry:
“A child dies every six seconds of hunger which is a huge statistic for me. After having my own child I just had to be a part of it and do something about it and help change that situation.”
Christina’s on a mission to make sure you know that YOU have the power to help. She’s asking her fans to join her in the fight against hunger, by going to www.wfp.org/christina or texting WFP at 90999 (US only) to make a $5 donation – enough to feed a child in school for an entire month. Most us can afford $5 bucks, even it means we have to skip Starbucks one day.
If you don’t pay your own cell phone bill, hand mom or dad 5 bucks and tell them congrats on raising a good kid!
You can earn free donations to help battle hunger by supporting The World Food Programme on SocialVibe.
